The Secret of live is to be happier, healthier, and live longer with Laughter

Laughter is my best medicine.

Some people say, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away,” but I find that a good sense of humor and a hearty laugh every day has even better benefits! I use humor to help keep me healthy and solve all sorts of challenges.

First and foremost, laughter relieves my stress. When my mind is focused on something funny, I can’t help but forget my worries, even if for a short time. Since stress causes most health issues, daily laughter keeps stress from building up to unhealthy levels.

A good belly laugh causes the mind to produce endorphins that promote a feeling of well-being. The way I figure, the more endorphins I make, the better I feel! It’s no secret that people with a good sense of humor live happier, healthier, and longer lives.

When I am feeling down, I take a break from my tasks to enjoy a funny movie or play entertaining games. After having my fun, I feel rejuvenated and get back on track with what I need to do.

If I am involved in a tense situation with someone, I think of something funny to break the tension. It always works! After we laugh, we’re better able to settle our differences amicably so we can find a win-win solution.

Laughter also helps me relax my mind. It sends extra oxygen to the brain that aids in clarity, which is always a good benefit.

I like to add, humor in my everyday Martial arts classes routines so I can rejuvenate my body, mind, and spirit!

What gave you your biggest laughs today? How did I feel afterwards?

For the Martial Artist Who Wants to Feel More Inspired

Who Wants to Feel More Inspired?

Studies confirm that some people feel inspired more often than the rest of us. While those moments of revelation may seem elusive, the impact is powerful. In addition to the initial exhilaration, inspiration can make you more productive and successful. You perform better and enjoy your work more.

The good news is that these same studies suggest habits that you can cultivate that will bring more enthusiasm into your activities. Try these tips to awaken your muse.

How to Feel Inspired More Often

  1. Take action. There are better strategies than sitting around waiting for inspiration to strike. You’re more likely to gain insights while you’re working on a project rather than putting it off until you feel more motivated. Start writing your first novel or contact acquaintances who might want to invest in your start-up business.
  2. Focus on intrinsic motivation. Inspiration is more abundant when you’re engaged in activities that you value for their own sake. Put aside thoughts about competing with others or earning money. Contemplate how much you enjoy singing in the church choir or riding your bike.
  3. Head outdoors. Sunlight and natural beauty make your mind more receptive. Pack a picnic lunch and take a hike.
  4. Appreciate art. Visit an art museum to learn from old masters or browse through an auction catalogue. Examining the work of others can prepare you for your own breakthroughs.
  5. Learn about science. Science is another field that offers opportunities to unleash your own genius. Scan the latest headlines about progress in medical research or renewable energy.
  6. Express gratitude. However we describe inspiration, it usually has something to do with transcending our ordinary experiences. Pick something you tend to take for granted and look at it more closely. Feel thankful for rain and squirrels.
  7. Meditate and pray. Many adults associate inspiration with their spiritual practices. Schedule time each day to read something that touches your heart. Talk with others about how you connect with the divine. Develop a daily meditation practice or attend worship services.

How to Sustain Your Inspiration

  1. Set goals. Inspiration tends to reinforce itself. Translate your visions into challenging goals. Once you reach them, use that motivation to create new goals that aim even higher.
  2. Go public. You’re more likely to implement your inspiration when you share it with others. If you tell your boss that you have a plan for cutting travel costs, she’s probably going to expect a status report soon. When your kids know that you figured out a way to afford a family ski vacation, they’ll remind you to pack your suitcases.
  3. Think positive. Inspiration and optimism go hand in hand. When you’re cheerful and upbeat, you’re more receptive to fresh ideas and making changes.
  4. Study role models. Of course, bringing your eureka moments to life still requires courage and effort. Imagine how your mentor or a historical figure you admire would rise to the challenge.
  5. Develop patience. Inspiration can be a sudden flash of lightening, but it may also be a long process. You’ll need to persevere if you want to realize the full benefits of a promising opportunity.
  6. Stay fit. Considering the close connection between body and mind, it’s natural that staying healthy invites more inspirational moments into your days and nights. Exercise regularly, eat a balanced diet full of natural foods, and enjoy plenty of good quality sleep and rest.

Prepare yourself to experience more brainstorms and apply them to your daily life. Drawing on inspiration nourishes creativity and hope. You’ll achieve more and find the journey more pleasant.

Top 12 Martial arts Mood Boosting Foods to Try on a Budget

AsparagusTop 12 Martial arts Mood Boosting Foods to Try on a Budget

Happiness is only a few forks and spoons away. Diet can affect moods, and specific foods can be used to improve how you feel. However, splurging on expensive saffron isn’t necessary. These mood boosting foods are easy to add to a budget-conscious grocery list.

The food you consume affects body and brain chemistry, so it’s important to choose the right ingredients while shopping.

Put these items in your shopping cart and enjoy:

  1. Turmeric is an inexpensive spice available in grocery stores. It influences the brain by increasing neurotransmitters responsible for feelings of happiness.
  1. The lycopene in tomatoes is linked to the reduction of inflammatory compounds. These compounds affect the mood and lead to depression, so eating tomatoes is one way to stay happy.
  • Cherry tomatoes are recommended over regular tomatoes because they have more lycopene. However, all tomatoes have this important nutrient.
  1. This vegetable belongs on the mood boosting grocery list because of betaine. It’s a special compound capable of making antidepressant molecules in the brain and protecting cells from stress.
  • Beets also have betalains that are responsible for reducing inflammation in the body. Studies show that inflammation contributes to depression.
  • Beets improve your mood by slowly releasing sugar as they’re digested
  1. It’s a popular diet food, but it’s also a great mood enhancer. Celery has 3-n-butylphthalide, the chemical responsible for reducing stress hormones, in large quantities.
  2. Its tryptophan levels make it a vegetarian alternative to turkey. Asparagus’ tryptophan contributes to the creation of positive neurotransmitters in the brain.
  • Asparagus’ folate levels also play a role in boosting your mood. Folate is also needed to make positive neurotransmitters. The study, “Is low folate a risk factor for depression? A meta-analysis and exploration of heterogeneity,” showed that people with low amounts of folate in their body are more likely to suffer from depression.
  1. Swiss chard. Do you want to increase your energy while lifting your mood? Swiss chard helps both of these areas with its magnesium.
  • Magnesium is an essential mineral linked to a happier state of mind.
  1. Lentils are a common budget grocery staple, and they can improve your mood. Lentils are a good source of folate, which helps the brain avoid depression.
  • Lentils also have L-tyrosine. It’s an important amino acid used by the brain to make happy neurotransmitters. Lentils are a healthy, simple, and inexpensive way to stay positive.
  1. Steel cut or flavored, oatmeal is another way to boost your mood.
  • Oatmeal has high levels of magnesium necessary to stay positive. It also has fiber that reduces blood sugar spikes and prevents mood swings.
  1. Honey can calm your nerves and decrease anxiety. Multiple nutrients are responsible for this effect.

10. Eggs have the same tryptophan found in turkeys, so they’re an essential part of creating good neurotransmitters in the brain.

11. Vitamin D fortified cereal. Name brands aren’t necessary to get a vitamin D boost from your cereal. A budget-conscious grocery list can include less expensive generic versions as long as they’re fortified with the vitamin.

  • Vitamin D is essential for the creation of serotonin. This neurotransmitter makes you feel happy and calm, so it’s important to get enough vitamin D to make it naturally.

12. Dark chocolate. Bulk and generic versions of dark chocolate are less expensive, so they can fit a budget grocery list.

  • Dark chocolate lowers the amount of stress hormones in the body. Additionally, its cocoa flavanols make you feel calmer. A study from the Swinburne University of Technology found that eating dark chocolate was linked to better moods.

The right diet can boost your mood naturally. Plus, you can purchase plenty of mood enhancing foods on a budget.

Courage should define you.

Courage fear

Life rewards courage and my life is an example of my bravery. As a Martial Artist my decisions reflect the fact that I am brave and capable. However, I also recognize when it is wise to be cautious.

Consider the long-term impact of your decisions and act boldly. You should feel a sense of responsibility to fully utilize your capabilities.

Today, You are ready to tackle a challenge. Be comfortable in your capability to handle this task and look forward to the experience. Your life is an example of your courageousness.

Where To Find Support For: Self-Awareness

Building Self-Awareness through the noncompetitive Martial Arts call NINPO

Would you like to see some changes in your life? You can begin making these changes by building self-awareness. Self-awareness is a self-conscious state where you’re focused on yourself and your well-being.

It’s often said, “We cannot change what we will not see.” Self-awareness is the process of acknowledging not only our strengths, but our weaknesses as well. Becoming self-aware entails listening to your body and feelings and taking action based on what you hear.

If you’re in tune with your body, you’ll know when to say no to that extra piece of cake or say no to staying up late. You’ll become more in tune with your body the more often you respect it. Self-awareness is a process. The more we do it, the better we become at it.

How do you become self-aware?

These tips will help you in your journey to self-awareness:

  1. Reflect on who you are and who you’d like to become. While it’s important to notice your faults and weaknesses, it’s equally important to acknowledge your strengths.

The better you understand yourself, the better you’re able to accept yourself as you are or change the things you’d like to be different. Self-awareness requires you to be honest with yourself and have the courage to change the things you can.
  • A full recognition of yourself gives you the opportunity to become the self-fulfilled person you’re destined to be.

Looking deep within your Mind, Soul and your Spirit, you’ll find the many character traits that make you unique. Begin by acknowledging the positive things. This will strengthen and encourage you to face the less favorable character traits without abandoning your new venture.

On the other hand, when evaluating your strengths, don’t let your ego get the best of you. If you magnify either your strengths or your weaknesses, you can’t possibly get a realistic picture of yourself.

  • Until you examine the truth of who you are, you cannot move into the person you can become. Look at yourself in Mirror and ask yourself am I a good person or bad person you can lie to yourself because you’re asking yourself that question. Then you might get to know who you are.
  1. Pay attention to your likes and dislikes. Far too often, people make life-changing choices without acknowledging deeply rooted personal preferences.
  • Before you embark on goals for your future, have a full awareness of the things you especially enjoy and those you prefer not to have in your life.
  1. Face your inner self. During your self-awareness process, think about your motivations, dreams, fears and stressors. Think about why you feel the way you do, and then begin to work toward overcoming these inner battles.
  2. Ask your loved ones’ opinions. Talk to people who know you best and really listen to what they see as your dominant character traits and motivations. Ask them to be completely honest with you and be prepared to hear their opinions.
  • You may not be your own best judge of character. Accept the way your loved ones see you as part of this process. Consider their opinions along with your own analysis in order to see the full picture of who you are.

Self-awareness is a necessary part of self-esteem and change. If you want to grow as an individual, begin with a complete and honest picture of who you are now. This total awareness will start your journey to becoming the best you can be. There is an other way to bill self-awareness it is through the noncompetitive Martial Arts call NINPO or to some people known as Ninjutsu.

4 Key Attitudes for a Happy Life in a your Martial arts

Happiness is a girl-smiling-with-happinessMartial arts Happiness is one of life’s simplest concepts, yet it’s sometimes difficult to come by. You’ve probably gone through times when you wondered why your life is less than happy.

Seekers of happiness sometimes overlook basic ideas.

Ensure you possess these four key attitudes in order to make happiness yours:

  1. Be positive. Having a positive view on life is an effective way to ensure happiness. Although you’ll have difficult times, there’s usually a positive outcome or lesson to be learned.
  • Make an effort to overlook the negative aspects of a situation. It’s unlikely that you’ll be able to change what happened, but you can definitely decide how to respond.
  • Positive thinking gives you confidence to go after your goals. Consider the times you’ve doubted your ability to do something. How often are you able to succeed when you doubt yourself?
  • When you think positive, you’re able to hold your head up, regardless of the situation. You know that your future is rarely defined by what happens to you in the present.
  • Embrace positive thoughts and watch happiness come your way!
  1. Be grateful. It’s sometimes easy to overlook the blessings in your life. Negative circumstances can cloud your vision. But when you possess an “attitude of gratitude,” you’ll find that happiness pushes you through the gloomy days.
  • Even when a situation has a less than favorable outcome, avoid dwelling on it. Instead, be grateful for the experience. Now you’ll know how to proceed the next time.
  • Make time during your day to meditate on the things that you’re thankful for. You’ll notice that at the end of that session, a sense of relief takes over you. That relief represents happiness from knowing that you’re truly blessed.
  • A grateful attitude helps you be satisfied with what you have, instead of wishing you were in someone else’s shoes.
  1. Be kind. Many of us misunderstand kindness. True kindness is often experienced when you sacrifice something you have and want to meet someone else’s needs.
  • How many times have you been truly kind today? You’ll recognize true kindness from the warmth you feel inside after sharing something material, or even a kind word.
  • Approaching others with a heart of kindness allows you to deal with situations without getting angry. Happiness thrives in the absence of anger.
  1. Be forgiving. It’s easy to let feelings of hurt and anger affect your desire to forgive others. But it’s necessary to forgive in order to live a truly happy life. When you forgive, you let go of your pain. Letting go makes room for peace of soul and mind. That peace leads to happiness.
  • Practicing forgiveness helps you to grow and lead a happy, mature life. Growth and development poise you for success and joy.

These key attitudes to living a happy life seem simple enough in your Martial arts. Try practicing them one at a time until you’re comfortably happy with your progress. Eventually, you’ll be able to experience the kind of happiness your thought only existed in fantasy worlds!
